Burnham Market International Horse Trials

The Burnham Market International Horse Trial took place between Friday the 12th and Sunday the 13th April, at Sussex Farm in Norfolk (United Kingdom), and a photographer friend of mine said it may be worth a visit. Although I’ve never had anything to do with horses and therefore hadn’t a clue what would be going on, it sounded like a good day out and a new challenge, so I was well up for it.

It turned out to be brilliant, cold but with good light, and I was amazed how we were allowed to walk around the course which turned out to be perfect for photography.

For the technically inclined I used the Leica SL2 and the 90-280mm SL Vario-Elmarit lens. All the reviews I’ve read about the SL2 camera would indicate it’s unsuitable for sports photography but I was delighted with some of the images I captured.
